School Council

Parents play a vital role in the development and education of their children and in the success of schools. Our School Council is an active partnership with parents in our community. The purpose of the School Council is to improve student learning and to promote the best interests of the school community while encouraging a positive and co-operative school environment. 
 
Each year, we reach out to our parent community to seek out volunteers to join our School Council.  With only two short years at SIS, our School Council supports extended academic and extracurricular opportunities to make our Grade 7 and 8 students’ time here as memorable as possible.  We will have approximately five virtual meetings throughout the year, which each run approximately one hour.  We will be looking for the following positions:
 
  • Chair/Co-Chairs
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Parent Representatives (3)
